Great write up John! So many great points.

Perhaps a topic for a future post - what are good lessons for Healthtech companies trying to tackle these problems (Scheduling, Coordination, Followups, Billing)? e.g. with your experience, what products worked well, and what were painful?

There are many out there trying to do this. From the clinician's side, I'm not sure any of them are doing it really well at this point. There are a few problems, closed ecosystems being the biggest, the EHR companies have little incentive to truly open up and enable real interoperability, plus the way they store and organize information is... absurd to say the least. If you want to see products that work really well in healthcare, look at the specialty services (cardiology, GI, etc...). These products revolve mostly around procedures, but often they are documentation solutions that are focused on the clinical side. They're product teams work closely with the clinical teams to get the best products, they have former clinical people working with them and engaging with their customers to get the best feedback. GE does this well with their Cardiology products from my experience, they navigate the challenges well and focus on the best clinical usability.
